3 Bold Bears Training Camp Predictions

Today is the fourth training camp practice for the Chicago Bears. Before things progress too much, here are three bold predictions that I think will actually happen by week 1.

1. The Offense Will Win Most Practice Sessions

Do you think this is bold? I do. Especially when you look back at how Bears offenses performed in previous training camps. With so many talented players supporting Justin Fields, it's hard to imagine it not happening. The defense is also not at an elite level, consisting of a mix of young and veteran players, and this should give the offense a significant advantage without much pressure coming from the frontline. This might actually change if the team adds one or two edge rushers soon.

2. Chase Claypool Will Perform Well And Remain On The Field Consistently

It appears that lots of people have doubts about Chase Claypool. I think the reason for this is simply the draft capital used to acquire him midway through last season. It raised expectations. However, his skill set, frame and potential are insane. He even mentioned that this upcoming season is crucial for him. He said it was the biggest year of his life. While playing with Fields last year didn't show immediate success, having a full off-season to work together should make a significant difference. I believe he will perform well during the training camp, stay injury-free, and nuke Green Bay in week 1. You heard it here first.

3. Khalil Herbert Will Keep The Starting Position

Many people think the running back situation is a toss up, and might just be a running back by committee. However, I expect Khalil Herbert to make significant progress, especially in pass protection, which has been a weakness for him. I think he will be a more exciting as a pass catcher too. He's motivated and should outperform Roschon Johnson and others during training camp. Pass protection will be his biggest hurdle and could very be the reason someone (like Johnson) leaps ahead of him on the depth chart.
