The Chicago Bears still haven't given Allen Robinson his contract extension. With one day left before the season begins, it's starting to feel like he and fans clamoring for it will have to wait. GM Ryan Pace has made it clear the team wants the star wide receiver around moving forward. However, the process remains ongoing. He doesn't view the start of the season as a deadline.
Robinson for his part has stated multiple times his contract is not his focus. His mind is centered on the Detroit Lions on Sunday. It's all about winning football games. The money situation will sort itself out, one way or another. Still, there has been an undercurrent from Robinson's side about wanting a new deal. Enough to think he's not thrilled about the lack of action from the Bears' side.
Matthew Berry of ESPN believes he's going to take his frustrations out on the Lions defense.
"Wait? Allen Robinson? The guy who is getting stuck with Mitchell Trubisky again?" You heard me. A-Rob is QB proof, but make no mistake: This isn't an endorsement of Trubisky, it's a statistical roast of the Detroit Lions' pass defense: second-most fantasy points allowed to receivers in 2019 second-most receiving yards allowed fifth-most receptions allowed most deep receptions allowed 18.6 FPPG allowed to Robinson And that all was with Darius Slay on the roster. Quietly the eighth-best WR in fantasy last year with Trubisky, Mitch can't possibly be worse than he was last year ... right? Whatevs. Massive target share coming in a great matchup. I'm in.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SphvSAVgqoU&pp=wgIECgIIAQ%3D%3D&ab_channel=ChicagoBears
