So, obviously if you're a Chicago Bears fan you're not going to root against Mitch Trubisky. At least not right off the bat because yes there comes a time when you do want your team to lose, you know, like the rebuilding Bears, or the Chicago Cubs when they were rebuilding. Anyway, Bears fans were rattled on Thursday night, when GM Ryan Pace traded up to the No. 2 pick, giving up their No. 3 selection and three other picks. Trubisky was drafted and let's just say the immediate reaction was pure rage.
But now that the initial shock has passed, it's not really the worst thing. Pace got his guy and who cares what draft picks he traded away. If Trubisky is good, then it really won't matter. If you think Trubisky was going to be available at No. 3 no matter what, then again it doesn't matter because Pace was drafting him. So, all that matters is if Trubisky will be good or not.
However, I won't blame anyone for initially hating the pick and no one had a more perfect reaction than this Bears fan.
"Fucking Doug McDermott fucking all over again," was definitely the best part. You have a fan here who's been hurting and you might think that he's going overboard with the "I hate the fucking Chicago sports," but for him it's a harsh reality. Yeah, the Cubs just won the World Series and despite an embarrassing sweep in the playoffs, the Blackhawks won three Cups in six years. However, the fan in the video only roots for three Chicago teams. Obviously the Bears and with the McDermott reference you might have already guessed it, the Bulls.
But hey, at least the White Sox are in first place as of now. So, here's to hoping Mitch Trubisky is finally the franchise quarterback all Bears fans have been waiting for. But hey, anything can end up better than the Doug McDermott Bulls era, right?
