Nobody can ever say Chicago Bears fans aren't creative. When they want something, they can find a myriad of different ways to demand it. When they wanted Matt Nagy fired as head coach two years ago, they'd break out in chants of "Fire Nagy" at various other Chicago sporting events. Now Matt Eberflus finds himself in similar territory. His second season is nothing short of a disaster. He remains winless against divisional opponents and lost not one but two games in a two-month span via an epic 4th quarter collapse. Fans have seen all they need from him.
Six games remain in the season. The Bears haven't offered any indications of what they will do, one way or the other. That hasn't stopped fans from finding ways to get their message across. One enterprising gentleman decided to use the power of Pay-Per-View. The WWE was holding its highly anticipated Survivor Series event at Allstate Arena on Saturday. During the War Games main event, cameras caught a man in a referee shirt holding up a sign. The message was impossible to misjudge.
"Fire Matt Eberf-lose"

Matt Eberflus is at death's door.
Nagy didn't survive when the fans turned against him. The fact they are already doing the same to Eberflus is a bad sign. It would be one thing if the Bears were having a normal down year. That could be tolerable. Even six wins would've been acceptable as the necessary step of a rebuilding team. Yet nothing about this season can be called normal. The blowout loss in the opener to Green Bay was the worst possible star. Then there was the game in Kansas City, where they looked inferior. Next was coughing up a 28-7 lead against Denver. Last but not least, they dropped a 26-12 lead to the Lions despite only four minutes left in the game.
Nothing about Matt Eberflus' tenure can be called positive. The team makes way too many mistakes. They fold in crunch time. Coaches aren't taking proper accountability. It is hard to fathom how team management could justify giving him a third season when he clearly hasn't earned it. Only one person can stop a change from happening. That is GM Ryan Poles. If he's willing to die on that hill, it will be interesting to see if team president Kevin Warren allows it or if he demands changes.
