Nick Foles has had a long, winding NFL career. This has allowed him to play with a bevy of different receivers. He's certainly seen a wide variety from the massive Kenny Britt to speed demon DeSean Jackson. So one can imagine he was excited to get the opportunity to play with Allen Robinson once the
Chicago Bears handed him the reins as the starter.
The two seemed to get off to a decent start. On Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts, they connected seven times for 101 yards including a 16-yard touchdown late in the 4th quarter. Considering how little the two had a chance to work together in practice leading up to this season, it's a welcome sign they're already on the same page.
When
asked about that during his first press conference this week, Foles sang the praises of his new teammate. He also made an interesting comparison to another player he's worked with in the past. Somebody Bears fans probably remember.
"The thing that I've enjoyed with being his teammate and watching him play and throwing him the ball is he's got a huge radius to catch the ball. I mean you just got to throw it in his general area and he'll make plays. Reminds me a lot of when I played with Alshon Jeffery where you just throw him the ball and let him do his thing."

Nick Foles did have some magic with Jeffery
Bears fans have pretty bitter memories of Jeffery. Here's a receiver the team drafted in the 2nd round in 2012, developed him into a Pro Bowler only to seem him spurn the team in 2017, taking shots at the Bears organization as he went. He's been atop the s**t list of many in the Chicago area ever since.
Foles' experience with him was far different. The two connected 12 times for 219 yards and three touchdowns in the Eagles' run to the Super Bowl that year. Then they worked some magic against the Bears in the playoffs the next year, hitting six passes for 82 yards in that 16-15 upset. It's unfortunate the last memory people have of the two was Jeffery letting a Foles pass go right through his hands to get intercepted in New Orleans the next week.
Bitter as Bears fans are, Foles is their quarterback now. If he can forge a similar connection with Robinson that he had with Jeffery? That will lead to good things for this offense.
