The Chicago Bears made the big move everybody knew was coming. Head coach Matt Nagy after four seasons, his final one being by far his worst with a 6-11 finish. While the last game was one of the ugliest, his fate was likely sealed weeks ago as another long losing streak ruined another promising start. Combined with the same old offensive issues, the excuses to keep him around have evaporated.
Nagy's teams had 28 games since 2018 where they failed to score at least 20 points. This was despite working with no less than four different starting quarterbacks. The head coach had every opportunity to fix the problem but never could. For all his positive qualities as a leader and motivator, the man was never able to live up to that billing as an offensive guru. He was merely someone fortunate to live in the shadow of Andy Reid.
