The Chicago Bears record prediction for 2019 has mostly been on the downside so far. Several experts believe the team is going to regress. Their reasoning being that the defense won't be what it was last year without Vic Fangio. That along with a lack of belief in Mitch Trubisky fuels anywhere from 8-8 to 6-10 guesses. However, not everyone is such a pessimist. Others think they'll be just fine.
Conor Orr of the MMQB released his full slate of NFL record predictions recently. There are plenty of non-surprises involved like the Patriots winning the AFC East again along with the Browns getting their first winning record in 12 years. So what are his expectations for the NFC North? Well, the least surprising thing is the Detroit Lions finish last.
Where it gets interesting is he has Green Bay finishing 8-8, missing the playoffs for the third-straight season. The division winner? That will be Minnesota with an 11-5 mark. As for the Bears, he has them barely coming up short at 10-6.
"I think we’ll soon be forced to board a Mitch Trubisky hype train, the likes of which we’ve rarely seen from a third-year quarterback. This is a talented roster with a mastermind playcaller as a head coach, though they are losing Vic Fangio at defensive coordinator. While they are on the road a good amount early (Denver in Week 2, Washington in Week 3 and Oakland in Week 5), those are winnable games that could build them a cushion ahead for torturous stretches like New Orleans, LAC, @Eagles, and Packers, Chiefs, Vikings to finish the regular season."

It's no secret that the Bears have one of the toughest schedules in the NFL. No fewer than six of their final 11 games will be against opponents who made the playoffs last season. The good news? Four of those matchups will be at home in Soldier Field. So there is an opportunity for them to navigate that difficult stretch without taking too much damage. Especially since the Bears were so tough at home last season.
The stretch that will probably make or break their season comes out of the bye week in late October and early November. They open up against the New Orleans Saints at home, then also host the Los Angeles Chargers before heading out east for a rematch with the Philadelphia Eagles. Those are three well-rounded opponents with great quarterbacks and capable defenses
If the Bears want to show the world they're serious about winning a championship, that's the gauntlet they'll have to survive.
