September 6th is the date the Chicago Bears must have their roster finalized at the 53-player limit. With the last noteworthy practices of training camp over, head coach Matt Nagy and his staff have begun making their big decisions. As always the early cuts are the easiest and the Bears made a total of six on Thursday including four on the offensive side.
Included among them are running back Napoleon Maxwell and wide receiver Ahmad Wagner. Two names that garnered some intrigue back in the spring. Obviously all six names will become possibilities for the practice squad. The NFL expanded them to 16 spots this season due to COVID-19 concerns. That means the Bears will likely end up keeping more of their own players than normal.
