When will Mitch Trubisky start? This is the question that will remain a hot topic among Chicago Bears fans for weeks and maybe even months to come. Head coach John Fox remains steadfast in his stance. Mike Glennon will be the starter this season. He feels the team has a better chance to win right now with him under center.
That's his prerogative. His job is of course on the line and he wants to go with somebody he feels more comfortable. Fox has won in the past using the classic method of running the ball and playing good defense. Glennon, love him or hate him, has shown some proficiency at running that style of offense as he did in Tampa Bay.
Of course the inevitable moment will come when the Bears have to lean on him throwing the football in order to win a game. That will be his do-or-die moment. Most don't believe he'll pass the test. Thus the question returns. When does Trubisky start?
As it turns out, Chicago fans aren't the only ones
"Mitch Trubisky Start Watch" is gaining steam everywhere
It's not a big surprise that Trubisky is popular in the Cleveland area. He is from there after all. A native of Mentor he was voted Mr. Ohio Football in 2012 after a terrific senior year of high school. Fans from that region have followed him ever since he left for North Carolina. They were beyond excited at the prospect of him possibly ending up with the Cleveland Browns, who held two high first round picks in the draft. Things didn't pan out that way. They chose to go with pass rusher Myles Garrett, allowing the Bears to pounce. One would think their enthusiasm would have waned by now. Instead it's percolating through the locker room of a professional baseball team. Not DeShone Kizer, who is actually starting for Cleveland. It's Trubisky. So just imagine what he'll do for Chicago whenever his opportunity arrives and the NFL media machine is there to capture it. It's not hard to imagine the Bears fan base falling in love with a QB for the first time in decades. Something that is long overdue. The clock starts ticking on September 10th when they take on the Atlanta Falcons at Soldier Field. Seems the Indians will be waiting and watching.Comments
