The Chicago Bears are far from a perfect franchise but they've been pretty good about keeping good players and not letting them get away during the Ryan Pace era. One name they may be second-guessing at the moment is De'Vante Bausby. Most fans might remember the name. He's a former undrafted free agent who started with the Kansas City Chiefs before signing with the Bears in 2015.
He spent two years with the team, during which he appeared in four games and made 12 tackles. Unfortunately, he never quite latched on and was eventually allowed to walk in 2017. He appeared briefly for the Philadelphia Eagles last season but didn't do much there as well. At last, he took a new opportunity to sign with the San Antonio Commanders of the Alliance of American Football.
This seems to have been a good career decision. Bausby has become one of the best cornerbacks in the league with five interceptions on the season. The fifth coming in one of the most clutch sequences the league has yet witnessed.
