The
Chicago Bears remain focused on their own business right now. They've hired their new general manager in Ryan Poles. Their search for a head coach is underway. After that, business will shift to figuring out where they go with the roster. That being said, there is no doubt all of Bears nation is watching the Green Bay Packers. Everybody saw what happened on that frigid evening at Lambeau Field. How Aaron Rodgers once again squandered homefield advantage in the playoffs, losing 13-10 to the underdog San Francisco 49ers.
It truly felt like a massive blown opportunity. Maybe the worst of the Rodgers era. Now the Packers face a pivotal decision going into the offseason. They've stated publicly they'd like the MVP favorite to stay, but the QB himself isn't sure. He made it clear after the game he will explore all avenues from staying another year to a trade elsewhere or even retirement. There is also the Jordan Love situation Green Bay can't ignore. How much longer can they afford to wait before turning things over to him?
A complicated situation.
One that is sure to see a resolution within the next two months. Andrew Brandt of The MMQB worked in the Packers front office for several years. He was with the organization when they drafted Rodgers in 2005. So he understands both the player and the franchise. He discussed the issue on the
Rich Eisen Show. It is clear to him that an avenue remains open for him to stay, but not for just one more year. Given all the facts available, the likely outcome is clear. Brandt thinks Rodgers will be traded.

It is rather amazing to think the last image people will have of Aaron Rodgers in a Green Bay uniform is walking out of Lambeau Field after scoring just 10 points in a playoff game. Another Hall of Fame quarterback that could depart the organization having managed just one Super Bowl victory. Not even a Super Bowl berth in over a decade. For all the greatness the man has achieved, that will be a huge stain on his legacy.
Not that Bears fans care. The idea of him exiting the division is a dream scenario. Especially with the hope that Justin Fields is ready to take a step forward in 2022. This could finally be the chance Chicago has waited for to exact revenge on their eternal nemesis.
