Tarik Cohen achieved one of his biggest dreams this past week. The 5'6 running back nobody gave a chance to even sniff the NFL coming out of high school is now a multimillionaire. The Chicago Bears gave their 4th round pick from 2017 a contract extension for another three years at just under $6 million per season.
His first order of business after getting his money? Buy his mom a new house. It's a great story for the Bears spark plug. Hopefully, he will get his chance to prove worthy of the new deal in the weeks to come. Yet Cohen did offer an interesting nugget towards the end of his recent press conference.
Cohen has been the most vocal among Bears players calling on the team to get the contract extension with Allen Robinson done. This statement was merely the latest. Did he actually sacrifice some money in his new deal to give the team more ammunition? No. He admitted afterwards that it was a joke, but the sentiment was still obvious.
