Jaylon Johnson Has A Big Fan In Rams Superstar Cooper Kupp

Jaylon Johnson came into the NFL with one purpose. That is to show everybody he can hang with any wide receiver in the business. Even before getting drafted, he said his desire was to match up against Davante Adams because he felt the former Green Bay Packers star was the best in the league. Only by playing the best could he truly push himself to be great. So it must've been gratifying when Adams himself expressed respect for the Chicago Bears cornerback on Instagram. As it turns out, he isn't the only great receiver with such feelings. Cooper Kupp had one of the greatest seasons in NFL history last year, going for 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns. He won Super Bowl MVP for the Los Angeles Rams. Nobody could stop him, but even he had to work hard against some defensive backs. Longtime analyst Dan Patrick asked him who the toughest assignments were last season. Two names came to mind. One was Indianapolis Colts Pro Bowler Kenny Moore, and the other was Johnson. Adams and Kupp are two of the best in the business. Getting both of them to single him out as a top cornerback is a sign the Bears probably did well by drafting him in 2020. If anything, it is further proof getting him at the 50th pick was an outright steal. Johnson himself said he felt he should've gone in the 1st round. He didn't because of the health issues he had at Utah regarding his shoulders. He was healthy last season and was the Bears' best defensive back by a wide margin. Now he has a new coaching staff coming in that is loaded with experience and a proven track record. In fact, it's the same one that helped turn Kupp's other pick, Moore, into the star he is today. With contract discussions on the horizon, Jaylon Johnson has more motivation than ever to deliver his best season yet. If it happens, Chicago would love nothing better and have the money on standby.
