Jurassic Park Troll Video Of Chicago Bears Is Painfully Genius

The Chicago Bears haven't given up on 2023 yet, but their fans have. The team is 1-5. Their quarterback is going to miss at least one game with a dislocated thumb. The offensive line is riddled with injuries. Oh, and the coaching staff might be bad once again. So, nobody should blame people for shifting their focus to the 2024 NFL draft. It makes sense, considering the Bears currently project to hold the #1 and #2 overall pick courtesy of the trade with Carolina that landed their 1st round pick next year.

If that holds the rest of the year, experts believe the two picks are pretty obvious. The first will be USC quarterback Caleb Williams, widely considered one of the best prospects at his position in years. The other will be Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., a unicorn with once-in-a-generation talent. However, everybody knows the Bears' track record with quarterbacks and wide receivers. It rarely goes well for them in Chicago. Thus, an enterprising individual created a video using the iconic kitchen scene from Jurassic Park, where the children are hunted by raptors.

It would be funny if it weren't so painfully accurate.

The Chicago Bears have to break this cycle.

Williams and Harrison both have more than enough talent to carry this franchise to long-term success. The problem is whether the Bears can build the proper infrastructure to help them thrive. That requires one thing above all else: a competent coaching staff. This is a problem the organization hasn't really figured out since Lovie Smith left, and even he had his issues. Marc Trestman was a disaster. John Fox wasn't terrible but clearly past his prime. Matt Nagy started strong but quickly lost control as his gimmicks dried up. Matt Eberflus has the worst winning percentage of any Bears coach in history.

They still haven't found a guy who can change the culture of the organization. Another attempt is forthcoming this January. It is unlikely Eberflus will make it to a third season unless he can string together some wins down the stretch. That means GM Ryan Poles, or whoever replaces him, will have to find somebody who can get the most out of Williams and Harrison if they arrive next April. Otherwise, that video will prove prophetic.
