The buzz for the Mitch Trubisky debut on Monday Night Football October 9th is generating a rumble on the Richter scale. Chicago Bears fans have waited years for the team to finally take their crack at drafting a quarterback high. A total of 35 years in fact. Now it has happened and after a dismal month of watching Mike Glennon fall on his face, the time has all but arrived.
Conversations swirled around the subject all week and people are getting pretty impatient. They know he has limited options at wide receiver. At the same time they also know he's an athlete who can create for himself. Also he has a tremendous running game and solid tight ends to help. The question becomes can he generate any sort of movement against what is a talented, well-coached Minnesota Vikings defense?
One notable player believes that not only it will happen, but that he'll end up having a tremendous opening act. It seems rather fitting that this player has a long-standing rivalry with the Bears QB going back years.

Kareem Hunt believes Mitch Trubisky debut will surprise many
No man has a first-hand account of the Trubisky ascent to greatness better than Kareem Hunt. The Kansas City Chiefs running back is in the midst of a Rookie of the Year performance thus far in 2017. He leads the NFL in rushing and already has an absurd 659 all-purpose yards through five games. Such levels of domination are nothing new to him. He was that kind of player going back to his days in youth and high school football. During that time there was always one other player challenging him for right to the crown of best young player in Ohio. That was Trubisky. Over time the two came to know each other, both competitively and personally. So how will he fare in his first game against the Vikings?"Mitch is a competitor and good friend of mine. I just know how he is and I know he likes to win. I feel like he'll do a great job."Hunt of course couldn't hide his own competitiveness from the conversation. He was quick to point out his team defeated Trubisky's in two championship game meetings during their youth days. At the same time it's fair to say Trubisky got the last laugh. When the two went head-to-head for the title of Mr. Ohio Football in 2012, it was the quarterback who came out on top. He threw for 3,712 yards and 41 touchdowns that year.

"I just remember him being a tremendous athlete, a playmaker and just a great person too," Hunt recalled. "He threw the ball a little bit and he had some big plays. But I remember he always led his team far and was a winner."Hunt has lots of experience seeing how Trubisky responds to pressure situations. He, like everybody else, saw the QBs' epic run in the state championship playoffs in 2012. That included a giant 21-point comeback victory followed by knocking off the defending champs in a two-week span. He was born and bred to play this game.
