Matt Nagy Has the Perfect Idea for If the Bears Win the Super Bowl

Matt Nagy hasn't shied away from making the Chicago Bears' plans for 2019 crystal clear. The team knocked on the door last year by making the playoffs. Now the idea is to kick the door in and get to the Super Bowl. His theme for last season was "Be Obsessed." That has evolved to this year: "Chasing Great." He wants his players to know what the prize is.

Nothing less than a championship. Period.

One of the forgotten tragedies in Bears history was that George Halas, their beloved founder, didn't get a chance to see the last championship in 1985. He'd survived long enough to lay the foundation by hiring Mike Ditka, keeping Buddy Ryan, and signing Steve McMichael among other moves. Sadly he died in 1983, two years before it all came together.

This is a fate the team is desperately trying to help avoid for Halas' daughter, Virginia McCaskey. She too has desperately wanted to see her beloved Bears win one more championship before it's too late. At 96-years old, time is running out. Nagy is making it his mission to fulfill that wish. He even has an unforgettable celebration planned if it happens.

It's unclear how well a woman of her age will be able to move in a Club Dub song, but then again it won't really matter. Making any sort of motions during the height of a Super Bowl victory will be enough for players and fans. The image it creates will forever be etched in the annals of franchise history. One that goes back a full century.

Given how much of that history belongs to her father, it would be fitting for Virginia to take one for herself before graciously passing things on to her sons.

If nothing else, it is nice to see Nagy understands the depth of what this team is playing for. Sure, McCaskey isn't their sole motivation. However, the team wouldn't be where it is today without her calm guidance all these years. She more than anybody understands the concepts of "Bears football." No one can claim they thirst for a championship more than her.
