The Chicago Bears took an unfortunate hit last Sunday on offense. Their prized versatile running back Tarik Cohen was involved in a scary collision during a punt return. One that resulted in him writhing in pain on the field. He was quickly taken to locker room and declared out for the rest of the game. Sadly MRI results confirmed the worst 24 hours later.
Cohen had torn his ACL. He was done for the rest of the season.
That leaves the Bears with some work to do. How do they fill that void Cohen leaves behind? For the time being they're going to give his spot to undrafted rookie Artavis Pierce whom they signed back in April. They like his skill set and believe he has lots of traits that can blossom in this offense.
That said, they don't appear to be putting all their eggs in that basket. Field Yates of ESPN revealed the team was hosting former Pro Bowler Lamar Miller among other running backs for a team workout session. He would make for an intriguing addition were they to sign him.
