The Chicago Bears have a really big game coming up on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers. One that could determine the outcome of the NFC North division. Chicago is 3-2 while Green Bay is 4-1. The winner claims the tiebreaker and first place in the division. So the team is going to need every able body to pull this off. Especially with Aaron Rodgers coming to town. Perhaps for the final time.
The problem is the Bears have been dealing with some injury issues this week. Several key players were missing practices including Allen Robinson (ankle), Akiem Hicks (groin), and Khalil Mack (foot). Those are three crucial pieces to any sort of upset this team wants to pull off. After not practicing on Wednesday or Thursday, it was clear that their status for the game would be determined by Friday's injury report.
Thankfully, fans got some good news.
Both Hicks and Robinson returned to practice, even in a limited fashion. This offers some hope that both should be able to go on Sunday. Hicks was declared doubtful last week despite practicing that Friday. This offers an indication that his health has improved. The big defensive end is also known for playing through pain whenever the Packers are in town. As for Robinson? The fact he met with the media earlier this week was a favorable sign he'd likely play. In regards to Mack? He didn't practice at all but remains questionable. Head coach Matt Nagy said the expectations are he'll play. The Chicago Bears have known for some time that the start outside linebacker is dealing with nagging issues. He needs every possible chance to heal up when he can. This team knows what he's about. Mack is one of those rare cases that doesn't need to practice constantly to be effective in games. Presuming all three are able to go? The Bears' hopes of pulling an upset go up.
