We're just 18 days away from the NFL Draft, where the Bears hold the first and ninth picks. While it's widely expected that they'll choose USC star quarterback Caleb Williams with the first pick, the ninth pick is still up in the air. The team's plans for this pick are uncertain, with several possible directions they could take. One intriguing possibility is selecting one of the top wide receivers in the draft if players like Marvin Harrison Jr, Malik Nabers, or Rome Odunze are still available. Rome Odunze, in particular, has been frequently mentioned in several mock drafts. ESPN's Courtney Cronin reported some interesting comments from Odunze regarding Caleb Williams and the potential of playing together at the next level.
“I got to see Caleb first hand.. I got to see his talents and abilities. So definitely, I know he’s a student of the game and someone who brings a lot of passion and a lot of desire to the game. So, of course, to be paired up with him would be something special.”
Rome Odunze Is A Fan Of DJ Moore's Game
In a separate conversation with NBC Sports Chicago, Odunze spoke highly of DJ Moore and expressed interest in the idea of playing alongside the talented 26-year-old wide receiver.
“He’s a dog.. I mean he just doesn’t go down. His balance to maintain it through catches and stay on his feet and get those extra yards, it’s one of the highlights of his game. He’s smaller, but he has the speed, the physicality of a bigger receiver. He’s exciting to watch.”
Chicago is the ideal destination for Rome Odunze. Being able to learn and play alongside established star receivers like DJ Moore and now Keenan Allen would only benefit his development in the NFL. If everything goes perfectly, the Bears could potentially have the chance to draft, or even trade up a spot or two, ensuring they secure one of the top wide receivers in this year's draft.
