Roquan Smith Goes Off With Recent Comments Regarding Justin Fields

Roquan Smith, former linebacker for the Chicago Bears, recently featured on the Punch Line Podcast, where he shared intriguing insights about his former teammate, quarterback Justin Fields.

"He's a talented dude and can really make things happen but the Bears need to put some weapons around him."

Roquan Smith is making a valid point. Aside from DJ Moore and Cole Kmet, Justin Fields lacks other standout playmakers on the team. While the offensive line is solid, there's a gap at the center position, and the running backs are performing well. However, adding someone like Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. could significantly enhance Fields performance. Smith didn't just stop at that; he went on to criticize the Bears franchise further and draw comparisons between Fields and his own current quarterback.

"If Justin was in a system where he actually had pieces around him, I think the dude would light it up. He would be a threat very similar to Lamar Jackson."

Roquan Smith wouldn't have said this unless he genuinely meant it.

Smith's comments wouldn't carry as much weight if he were still a member of the Bears. However, he is now a Raven, yet he continues to advocate that Justin Fields can become a franchise quarterback.
