Scammers Are Holding Chicago Bears Training Camp Tickets Hostage

It isn't a shock that demand for Chicago Bears training camp tickets is high this year. The team appears to be on the upswing, going 7-10 last year after their ugly 3-14 campaign in 2022. Feeding those flames is the arrival of Caleb Williams, the #1 overall pick in the draft. Many see him as the best quarterback to come out of college since Andrew Luck. True or not, it doesn't change how people feel about the team's prospects in 2024. They can't wait for the season to start. Everything kicks off at Halas Hall on July 26th for the first public practice.

Tickets finally became available on the 9th. As everybody knows, these are free for fans. The only challenge is getting them. Since the Bears moved camp practices away from Bourbbonnaise a few years ago, they've been forced to limit the number of tickets given away. This has apparently created an ugly scenario involving scammers. These are people who scoop up multiple tickets and then turn around to sell them on Ticketmaster or another online vendor for exorbitant prices. One even dared to charge $416 for two tickets.

That is how far things have fallen for the Bears.

Chicago Bears fans deserve better than this.

One of the few times they didn't have to feel like they were being ripped off was during training camp. All they had to do was order a ticket and show up. They could bring their own food and beverages and watch their favorite players practice. Now, because tickets have become limited, it's far easier to create a black market. This happens when supply goes down while demand stays high. People feel like they can get money from situations where they have no business doing such a thing.

This is why the Chicago Bears moving out of Bourbbonais was always a selfish decision. It wasn't for the fans. It was meant to have tighter control of media access while players could stay closer to home. As usual, fans pay the price. One can only hope the Bears become aware of this situation and find a way around it. People don't like being taken advantage of.
