Things took an unexpected turn when a rumor surfaced via a Big Ten analyst that star Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. might be quietly trying to tank his draft stock so he can drop in the top 10. His intentions for doing that involve wanting to join the Chicago Bears, no doubt hoping to pair with presumed #1 overall pick Caleb Williams. Unsurprisingly, people have been quick to dismiss that idea because it seems so unusual. That is until people realize something. To date, Harrison has only taken two top 30 visits ahead of the draft.
One Bears fan picked up on this realization. One visit was to Arizona, the first team on the board that is unlikely to select a quarterback. The other? Yep, it was to Chicago. What made it even better is Caleb's father, Carl Williams, actually retweeted that revelation on Twitter (X). David Kaplan discussed this with insider Albert Breer on ESPN 1000. He believes that if quarterbacks go in the top four spots, as some have projected, there is a possibility the Bears can jump up the board to snag Harrison without having to break the bank to do it.

While some have tried to insist LSU's Malik Nabers is the actual best receiver in this class, the truth is this is an elite prospect. He's big, strong, fast, and already a tremendous route-runner. People have salivated over this kid for two years. Now, there is a possibility he wants to play with your next young quarterback. This is a scenario teams can only dream of. You could make a case that Williams and Harrison are the two best overall prospects in the entire class. Both of them ending up on the same roster would be bananas.
GM Ryan Poles isn't prone to overly aggressive moves too often. He prefers to stockpile picks more than ship them away. That said, there are times for an exception. He flipped a 2nd rounder to Washington for Montez Sweat last year. Giving up one of the two 2nds next year to get up to #5 for Marvin Harrison Jr. feels like a price worth paying. Pairing him with D.J. Moore and Keenan Allen would instantly forge the best receiving corps this franchise has ever had.
Everything hinges on what the Cardinals do at #4.
