The Chicago Bears of 2018 didn't reach the mountain top, but they were still a special team for several reasons. They were the ones who ended one of the longest streaks in franchise history without the playoffs. They achieved the second-best franchise turnaround of all-time (5-11 to 12-4) and they were the first to ever beat the Green Bay Packers in a division title-clinching situation.
They were a team that established themselves as a family. It didn't matter what people on the outside said. What mattered was that they worked hard and played hard for each other. Do that and they believed they would go far. In the end, they came a missed field goal away from beating the defending champions in the wild card round. Not bad.
What better way to appreciate this team than witnessing their best mic'd up moments of the year with stars like Mitch Trubisky, Khalil Mack, and Akiem Hicks leading the way.

One of the common sayings you'll hear about good teams over the many years of the NFL is they were a bunch of "characters with character." That would seem to describe so many of the players and coaches on this team perfectly. A collection of unique personalities who love the game of football. It isn't just their job but also their passion and are willing to put in the time to be great at it.
Yet there is little point to the endeavor if they don't have a little fun along the way. Here's hoping the 2019 version is considerably longer next season.
