The
Chicago Bears defense played one of their best games of the 2021 season last Sunday against the New York Giants. They gave up just three points and forced four turnovers. Quarterback Mike Glennon finished with -10 yards passing for the game. A remarkable feat in this era of NFL football. While Robert Quinn got the limelight for breaking the team's single-season sack record, it was Trevis Gipson that had the standout perform with two strip-sacks. Yet the best moment may have actually come
from Alec Ogletree.
It took place towards the end of the 3rd quarter. New York had driven to the Bears' 37-yard line and faced 3rd and 4. Glennon dropped back to pass and as he looked left for an open man, Gipson arrived to knock the ball from his hands. It was recovered by Khyiris Tonga for another big takeaway. The second-year pass rusher then went into his trademark Thor sack dance, but the best part was #44 Ogletree standing right behind him mimicking the dance to perfection.
Cameras actually caught the entire sequence.

It is rather impressive how Ogletree timed his dance with Gipson. They were in total sync at the end of it. Something that isn't as easy as it sounds. A fun highlight to a great afternoon for the defense. The veteran linebacker had a solid afternoon of his own, finishing with eight tackles. He was a big part of the Bears stopping the Giants' ground attack from trying to take over the game.
Gipson though is the big story. With that big performance, he now has 6.5 sacks on the season. A tremendous step forward for the former 5th round pick. A good sign that the Bears were right to trade up for him. He should be a valuable member of their rotation moving forward. Especially as he continues to hone his craft and build confidence. Hopefully, Alec Ogletree will get to copy that dance one more time in Minnesota this Sunday.
