The Chicago Blackhawks management is always working and they proved it mid-game against the Minnesota Wild. The organization announced a two-year entry level deal with John Hayden.
Hayden was drafted 74th overall by the Blackhawks in 2013. The organization has much interest in signing him after his junior season at Yale but he decided to play his senior year.
The move seems to have worked for him. He had his highest goal output in his college career, tallying 21 goals this season. He did most of his damage on the power play and four of his goals were game tying or game winning goals.
Hayden is First Team All-Ivy League and finalist for the Hobey Baker Award for college's best player. Following the game, Coach Quenneville said that Hayden will join the team and play for the Blackhawks this season.
