The NHL draft is almost at hand. Speculation is about to end. Chicago Blackhawks fans will find out who their next highly touted prospect will be. They hold the #3 overall pick, marking the third year in a row they've selected third or higher. There is no shortage of potential franchise options that could morph into difference-makers. Among them is Michael Misa. Most view the OHL star as the second-best player in this class. He scored 62 goals in 65 games with 72 assists this past season. The Canadian boy is no joke.
Many feel he is everything the Blackhawks could want—the perfect wingman for Connor Bedard. However, most projections have him going #2 overall to the San Jose Sharks after Matthew Schaefer goes #1 to the New York Islanders.
However, it appears there might be a twist in this story. Misa popped up on Instagram with a comment on a post by Blackhawks prospect Nick Lardis, their 3rd round pick from 2023. Rumors are that the two are friends, which makes the gif Misa shared all the more eye-opening.

It isn't difficult to see why. He'd reunite with Lardis and have a chance to pair up with Bedard, one of the most gifted hockey talents seen in a long time. The offensive threat they could form would terrify opponents as Toews and Kane did for so many years. Misa is so explosive with outstanding instincts. He is lethal in the transition and works hard on the defensive end, too. Keep in mind his 62 OHL goals tied the same number Kane put up in 2006-2007 before the Blackhawks drafted him. We already know Schaefer is going #1. All they need is for San Jose to shift their eyes elsewhere. Recent rumblings suggest the Sharks may have eyes for Anton Frondell, who they may view as a more complete player. If so, that would allow Misa to fall right into the Hawks' lap
