Griffin has yet to take full control of an NBA team as head coach, and if he were to be appointed it would be the first head coach position of his career. He took guided the Memphis Grizzlies to three successive playoffs but was fired from his position at Sacramento Kings in 2019.
In terms of hiring someone with head coach experience, Kenny Atkinson fits the bill. He did a good job at the Brooklyn Nets Between 2016 and 2020. Despite being in a playoff position last season, Atkinson resigned in March with rumors suggesting he had lost the locker room. Atkinson knows how to get the best out of his players which was proven during his time at the Nets. However, he is regarded by many as being the least likely of all the candidates highlighted above to be the next head coach for the Chicago Bulls.
