On media day the Bulls made it clear that their goal for the 2019-20 season is to make the playoffs. Cool.
This team can't afford to have any injuries to their core if they truly want to accomplish anything this season, but after their first official practice of the season Wendell Carter Jr. is already dealing with an injury.
Carter only played in 44 games in his rookie season, missing almost all of the second half because he had surgery on his left thumb. He also had surgery during the summer to repair an abdominal muscle injury.
But hey, at least this ankle sprain isn't serious?
By the way, the first Bulls practice lasted nearly three hours! Seems a tad bit excessive, but it's the first day. Not a big deal.
While Carter's injury doesn't appear to be serious, Daniel Gafford's elbow is a concern.
Gafford was drafted by the Bulls in the second round of the 2019 draft. Crappy news for Gafford, who is celebrating his 21st birthday today.
