Addison Russell has been suspended 40 games.
MLB announced the decision after concluding its investigation of domestic violence allegations toward Russell.

The suspension goes back to Sept. 21, when Russell was first placed on administrative leave. Russell will not appeal the suspension. Here's Russell's statement after the suspension was made official.
"After gaining a full understanding of the situation I have concluded its in the best interest of my family to accept MLB's proposed resolution of this matter. I wish my ex-wife well and hope we can live in peace for the benefit of our child."I think we've seen the last of Addison Russell with the Cubs.
