The long running joke between Cubs and Brewers fans is that Miller Park is just known as "Wrigley North" and now that Milwaukee has a new naming rights deal after 2020 there's at least one Brewers fan who prefers that nickname than the new partnership.
On Tuesday the team announced a 15-year deal with American Family Insurance, beginning in 2021.
Brewers fans are pissed that it will no longer be Miller Park. So much so that one Brewers fan took to Reddit for this take.
Yes, name it Wrigley North instead! Anyway, should fans actually care about stadium names? If the Cubs ever changed Wrigley Field, fans would still call it Wrigley. The only difference would be the marquee in front. We've seen it in Chicago, where the White Sox have changed their stadium name a few times during the past couple decades and fans still either call it Sox Park or simply Comiskey. Sell those rights, get that money, but most importantly spend that money. If you tell me right now that Tom Ricketts could sell the naming rights for Wrigley Field, but it meant they would actually go after Bryce Harper or Manny Machado, then by all means, name it whatever the hell you want. h/t: Reddit
