Conor McGregor Was Hilariously Bad At The Cubs Game

Last night's Chicago Cubs game against the Minnesota Twins hosted a very special guest in Conor McGregor, the biggest MMA star of all time. McGregor was present at the historic Wrigley Field to throw out the first pitch before the game, as well as sing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" for the 7th inning stretch. However, his throw has a lot of people talking today, as he was maybe just a little high on the pitch. Take a look:

Now, in fairness to Conor, he set himself up for failure here. As he often is, Conor was dressed immaculately, touting a full suit, which isn't exactly the most accommodating clothing to wear when you're trying to throw something. He also says his still-healing broken leg was another cause for the throw going awry, saying he could only plant off of one leg. When he was asked about how he did, McGregor seemed to be pretty happy with his performance, saying "the venom is there, the power is there."

This isn't the first time we've seen McGregor struggle at American sports. In 2018, McGregor attended a Cowboys game in Dallas, where he was caught on camera throwing the ball around on the field before the game. Let's just say I wouldn't have been surprised if someone told me that this was the first time he'd ever thrown an American football...

While the pitch is hilariously bad, what was even worse in my opinion was his singing of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" as a part of the legendary Wrigley field 7th inning stretch. McGregor sang possible the worst rendition of the song you'll ever hear, and there have definitely been some bad ones over the years. Take a listen:

Again, in fairness to the Irishman, it's likely he has never heard the iconic American song before, as the tweet insinuates. So not only was his actual first pitch all over the place, but his singing pitch was all over the place on Tuesday night too. However, McGregor had high praise for the historic Wrigley Field, saying the whole thing "feels like one big Irish pub with a field in the middle of it."

This isn't McGregor's first time as a person of honor in Chicago, as back in 2019 he was the Grand Marshall of Chicago's iconic St. Patrick's Day parade.

After seeing all of this, I think it's safe to say that throwing isn't McGregor's strength, unless he's throwing punches and kicks.
