Early on in the process former big leaguer Raul Ibañez was tabbed as a possible candidate to interview for the Cubs vacant manager position. It's not the first time Ibañez has been linked to the Cubs, who wanted to pry him away from the Dodgers front office last offseason to join their coaching staff.
Although the team never officially named Ibañez as a candidate, it was believed the Cubs were indeed interested.
However, you can cross out Ibañez's name off the Cubs' list, as he seems content to stay at home in Miami and continue to work for the Dodgers.

For the second consecutive year, Raul Ibanez has emerged as a popular name in managerial searches. And, for the second consecutive year, Ibanez has declined to pursue a managerial vacancy.
“It’s not the right time for me,” he said Monday.
Ibañez was hired by the Dodgers in 2016.
So far the Cubs have completed one interview, bench coach Mark Loretta was up first last week, while David Ross, Will Venable and Joe Girardi are scheduled to be interviewed this week.
Meanwhile, Joe Maddon who interviewed with the Angels, is expected to get hired soon.
