The Cubs will be hosting the Rockies in the Wild Card Game tonight, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Here is the 25-man roster for tonight's game from the Cubs.
The Cubs are going with 14 position players and 11 pitchers. The big news is no Carl Edwards Jr.
Jon Lester will be starting, squaring off against fellow lefty Kyle Freeland. As for the bullpen, Cole Hamels will be available in relief and Pedro Strop could see his first action since Sept. 13. Strop is coming back from a hamstring strain.
Overall, the Cubs' bullpen has been pretty shaky lately, as Steve Cishek and Justin Wilson all finished September with an ERA above 4. Cishek has pitched in five of the last six days, so the fatigue factor is definitely playing a role to his struggles. He's also set a new career high in appearances this season.
Really the only guy who can be trusted right now is Jesse Chavez, who pitched two scoreless innings on Monday against the Brewers.
Lineups will be posted later and you should expect a lot of righties against Freeland for the Cubs.
