BOOM! The Cubs take local kid Ed Howard with the 16th overall pick of the 2020 MLB Draft.
Howard, 18, is the first high school player drafted by the Cubs since 2012, when Albert Almora Jr. went sixth overall. Howard was ranked the No. 1 shortstop in this year's draft class and at 16th, he's considered to be the best pick so far tonight by at least one scout.
