Last offseason the Giants hired Farhan Zaidi to run the show in San Francisco and ever since they've operated without a GM. That is until now, as the Giants have reportedly hired Scott Harris.
Earlier in the week The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal first reported that Harris, who's been the assistant GM for the Cubs since 2018, was interviewed by the Giants for their open GM position. On Sunday, ESPN's Jeff Passan reported that the Giants will make Scott their new GM.
Harris first joined the Cubs back in 2012, hired by Theo Epstein at the age of 25 to be the director of baseball operations. Then, after five years he was promoted to assistant GM. Prior to the Cubs Harris also worked with the Nationals and Reds, and was MLB's minor league operations coordinator.
Harris becomes the fourth member of the Cubs front office to be poached from other teams in the past three years.
