This sucks.
During Sunday's spring training game against the Mariners, Cubs pitching prospect Manuel Rodriguez exited during his inning of work with an arm injury. After throwing a fluttering curveball, the Cubs trainer came out and checked out the pitcher's right forearm before walking off into the clubhouse.
All you can hope for is that it's nothing serious for the 23-year-old, who was added to the Cubs 40-man roster this past offseason.
If you recall, just a few days ago Rodriguez pitched against the Rangers and was outstanding, showing off his electric arm.
We'll keep you updated.
UPDATE
Rodriguez will be further evaluated Monday after leaving because of biceps discomfort in his right arm.
