Tonight's lineup against the Mariners is still without Javier Báez, who's out for the second straight game after jamming his left thumb on Sunday. However, the Cubs have Ben Zobrist and Willson Contreras back!
Zobrist returns to the lineup for the first time since May and he's right back in the leadoff spot. Contreras, who played in three games this past weekend at Iowa, is behind the plate and will bat sixth.
Jason Heyward, who spent almost all of August batting leadoff, moves down to seventh. Addison Russell gets another start at shortstop filling in for Báez.
The Cubs enter today's action three games behind the Cardinals in the division.
