As expected, Kris Bryant lost his grievance case against the Cubs. This was the outcome everyone thought would happen, but now it's finally official. Only took 100 years to decide.
ESPN's Jeff Passan broke the story Wednesday morning.
So, Bryant remains under team control through the 2021 season. Earlier this month he and the Cubs avoided arbitration for 2020 by agreeing to an $18.6 million salary.
And yes now that the decision is set you know the trade rumors will ramp up again.

The Cubs' trade discussions regarding Bryant have been ongoing most of the offseason, according to sources, as they try to retool their roster following a disappointing third-place finish in the National League Central. The Cubs hired a new manager, David Ross, and have entertained different permutations of trade possibilities without committing yet.
The Cubs report to spring training in two weeks. At this point though, doesn't really make sense for the Cubs to trade Bryant because it's not like they could use that money to sign other good players this offseason.
