Four More White Sox Pitchers Out For 2019, Two Because Of Tommy John Surgery

Unfortunately Tommy John surgery is becoming more of the norm in modern baseball and that's the case for another pair of right-handers in the White Sox organization.

Relief pitcher Ryan Burr, who made 16 appearances in the majors this season, and pitching prospect Jimmy Lambert will both miss the rest of the 2019 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery.

Ian Hamilton, who pitched in 16 games at Triple-A this season, will also be out the rest of the year because of multiple facial fractures.

It is truly unbelievable how many injuries the White Sox have had during the past calendar year. Seeing the entire list is staggering.

Here's another one. Zack Burdi with a season-ending knee injury.

So, five of the team's top-18 ranked prospects have had season-ending injuries, including Tommy John surgeries for Michael Kopech and Dane Dunning. Carlos Rodon also had Tommy John surgery earlier this year.

Just an unreal run of bad luck for the White Sox.

Tim Anderson was placed on the injured list Friday and he's expected to be out 4-6 weeks.

Jake Burger, who suffered two Achilles injuries, had a setback and is currently dealing with a heel bruise.

Yikes.
