White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson started spring training with a big chip on his shoulder. All offseason he saw fans waiting in anticipation for the White Sox to sign Manny Machado. That never happened and Anderson has taken his game to another level in 2019. Now, he's becoming the number one storyline for the White Sox and for the past couple weeks he's been one of the biggest stories in baseball.
All because he threw his bat after hitting a home run against the Royals.
Ever since the benches cleared between the Royals and White Sox after Anderson was hit, his popularity has skyrocketed. He's bringing some much-needed energy and fun to the field for the White Sox and more importantly the shortstop is producing.
Entering Sunday's game against the Tigers, Anderson was batting .402, with five home runs, 16 RBIs and 10 stolen bases on 10 attempts. He's scored 20 runs in his first 21 games.
Oh, and this walk-off too.
And of course Tim added some flare.
No matter how you feel about Anderson's theatrics, he doesn't give two shits about your dad's old school rules.
A bunch of old dudes just shit their pants out of anger reading that quote.
