Oh man, Adam Engel could be a sneaky solid player for the White Sox if, you know, he could actually get on base more than 25 percent of the time. But hey, there's no denying his incredible skill to make highlight worthy catches and as long as he keeps getting playing time in center field, he'll keep robbing home runs and make it look easy too.
Engel snagged a would-be home run off the bat of Pablo Sandoval in the second inning of Monday's game against the Giants.
Engel played in 143 games last season with the White Sox, but had a woeful slash line of .235/.279/.336, in 429 at-bats. However, he was a finalist for a gold glove in center field in 2018, finishing runner-up to Jackie Bradley Jr.
The 27-year-old has made some
mechanical adjustments to his swing during the offseason, so White Sox fans will see if they end up helping in the regular season. Engel has a career .260 OBP in 240 MLB games.
But damn can he steal home runs.
