Well, this was a mix of emotions for White Sox fans Saturday morning, as the team made a few moves prior to starting their series against the Cardinals.
White Sox utility man Leury García has been moved to the 45-day injured list, pretty much taking him out for the rest of the regular season after getting hurt sliding into first base earlier this week.
Right-handed pitcher Ian Hamilton was placed on the 10-day injured list as well. So, Cheslor Cuthbert has been called up to take García's spot on the bench, but the good news for fans is that pitching prospect Bernardo Flores is also up as the 29th man for today's doubleheader.
Flores, 24, was drafted by the White Sox in 2016, and in four minor league seasons the lefty has posted a 3.18 ERA in 432.2 innings, making 79 starts and 82 overall appearances since college.
He finished the 2019 season at Double-A, making 15 starts and posting a 3.33 ERA 78.1 innings.
