The White Sox just had a terrible series loss in Baltimore, but there's some good news. First, Eloy Jiménez is back after going to the Dominican Republic following the death of his grandmother. To make room on the 25-man roster, the White Sox DFA'd right-handed starter Ervin Santana.
The 36-year-old was signed to a minor league deal in February. He made three starts for the White Sox and gave up 14 earned runs in 13.1 innings.
So, it's now safe to say that lefty Manny Bañuelos will stay in the rotation even when Lucas Giolito returns from the injured list.
Bañuelos made his first start since 2015 against the Orioles on Monday and he pitched well, striking out four in four scoreless innings.
