White Sox outfielder Eloy Jiménez hasn't had the smoothest rookie season, but despite his struggles at the plate and in the field there's no question he can hit for a lot of power. So, it should come as little surprise that Jiménez has already set a new White Sox home run record.
Eloy clubbed his 20th home run of the season during Wednesday's 13-9 win over the Astros. With his long blast to center field, Jiménez became the youngest player in franchise history to reach the 20-homer mark.
What's even more incredible is that Jiménez has been on the injured list twice this season, missing 35 games in his rookie year. He would have reached 20 home runs much earlier if it wasn't for both injuries.
The powerful right-handed hitter still has plenty of room to improve, as he's slashing .240/.294/.463, in 340 plate appearances, but White Sox fans have nothing to be worried about when it comes to hitting dingers.
And despite the ball obviously being hitter-friendly this season, it's not like Eloy is hitting cheap home runs.
