There was yet another foul ball incident at a Major League Baseball game on Wednesday afternoon, when play stopped between the Minnesota Twins and New York Yankees in the fifth inning after a Todd Frazier foul ball struck a young fan in the stands.
Frazier immediately bent down, took off his helmet and looked distraught as he looked into the stands, where the fan received medical attention and was taken away. Twins and Yankees players were in shock, while Yankee Stadium stood in silence.
The reactions speak volumes.
At no point did the broadcast show the foul ball going into the stands in a replay. According to Deadspin, the Yankees were "seriously exploring" a plan to extend the protective netting at the stadium in July after an Aaron Judge hit ball struck a fan in the head.
