Now entering his time with a third head coach, Johnson didn’t shy away from sharing his thoughts on the hype surrounding new Bears head coach Ben Johnson and the team's offseason moves. Known for being vocal both on and off the field, Johnson kept it real.
“I’ve been through this before,” he said. “I’m going to get excited when we win in November and December.”
Johnson emphasized that he’s focused on the work—both individually and as part of the defense—not the headlines.

Honestly, it’s refreshing to hear this kind of mindset from a team leader. Too often, Bears fans, players, and even media members get caught up in offseason hype. As Johnson put it perfectly: “If it’s not about winning, I don’t care about it.”
And truthfully, Bears fans should feel the same way. If Ben Johnson wasn’t already feeling the pressure to win and win quickly—Jaylon Johnson made it clear with his message Tuesday: this team has high expectations for 2025.
