Mike Singletary Warns Rest of the NFL About This Bears Team

There's no question that Mike Singletary is biased when it comes to which team he supports in the NFL. He made his name as a Chicago Bears legend and that will always be where his heart is. Still, his reputation for football intelligence and honesty is something of value that people love to learn from. That's why it was interesting to hear his opinion regarding this new Bears team. TMZ caught up with the former head coach and 10-time Pro Bowler to discuss the topic It first centered on Mitch Trubisky and whether he liked him or not. Singletary said he liked the young passer last year and thinks he'll be a "fine" quarterback. As to his six-TD game, he refused to call it a fluke but did admit a number of those scores came courtesy of some bad coverage mistakes. As to the chances of the Bears winning the NFC North after starting 3-1? Singletary didn't mince words. He made his stance fairly clear.

Most people were calling the Bears a one-dimensional team to start the season. A great defense that carried an offense that was very much a work-in-progress. Then when the offense exploded for 48 points against Tampa Bay, they saw for the first time just how dangerous that side of the ball can be. Pair that with an elite defense and suddenly it's a team that is built to play in January. Detroit is Detroit. Minnesota's defense is a shadow of the unit it was last year. Not having star defensive end Everson Griffen is clearly hurting them. Green Bay is still a team driven by Aaron Rodgers though their defense has slightly improved. Put it this way. There isn't a team in this division that the Bears can't beat. It's been a long time since that was the case. Singletary can see the vision, see what they've built. It has a chance to be something special.
