Robert Quinn will be in a
Chicago Bears uniform. It is only a matter of time before he ends up somewhere else. The 32-year-old pass rusher doesn't have many good years left. He'd prefer not to spend them on a team that is rebuilding. One can respect that. This is part of why he chose to sit out mandatory minicamps. He may choose to play when given no choice, but it's obvious he would prefer to play elsewhere.
GM Ryan Poles is ready to oblige that request. So much has been rumored for weeks. The issue is he won't do so unless he feels the offer is strong enough. The man isn't prepared to unload a double-digit sack guy for nothing. The Bears have leverage in this too. His contract still has three years left, and most of the guaranteed money has been paid. So the acquiring team wouldn't be on the hook for much. It comes down to need and fit. According to

Robert Quinn to the Cowboys is an easy sell.
Their pass rush situation took a significant hit this offseason when defensive end Randy Gregory slipped away to Denver. Now they're hoping one of Dorance Armstrong, Dante Fowler, or rookie Sam Williams can fill the void left behind. Either that or they'll have to consider shifting Micah Parsons to edge rusher to play across from Demarcus Lawrence. That is something they'd prefer to avoid.
Acquiring Robert Quinn makes total sense. He'd be a perfect complement to Lawrence and allow Parsons to play his original linebacker position. It would make the Cowboys' defense significantly stronger and ready to battle the Philadelphia Eagles for superiority in the NFC East. Best of all? Quinn has already played there before. He had an excellent season in 2019 with the Cowboys prior to joining the Bears. They even have enough cap space to accommodate his contract for this season. It comes down to whether Jerry Jones is willing to pay the Bears' price.
