In 2018, right-handed pitcher Tyson Miller had a pretty good year at High A-Ball, posting a 3.54 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in 127 innings with Myrtle Beach. He struck out 126 and only walked 35 in 23 starts. Hooray for pitching command! Anyway, those numbers were good, but so far in 2019, Miller has been ridiculously amazing at Double-A.
Miller was picked in the fourth round of the 2016 draft by the Cubs out of California Baptist. Now, to begin his third full year of professional baseball the right-hander is turning heads and putting up jaw-dropping numbers.
You know you're having a good season when you pitch seven innings, give up only one run and your ERA actually goes up. That's what happened to Tyson following his Saturday start. He gave up five hits and a solo home run that raised his season ERA to 0.94.
Yeah, 0.94 ERA. Before that, Miller had a 0.86 ERA through his first six starts. The righty has thrown 38.1 innings in seven starts, recording a 0.94 ERA, 0.73 WHIP, 33 strikeouts and 8 walks, giving up only 20 hits.
He won Pitcher of the Week after a couple nice starts.
