The Cubs needed help from the left side in their bullpen, but the options just weren't sexy this trade season. Nonetheless, the Cubs have made a trade with the Diamondbacks for Andrew Chafin.
Jon Heyamn was the first to report the trade.
The 30-year-old will be a free agent following the season and as he's currently dealing with a finger issue the Cubs aren't going to give up much for him.
As a matter of fact, Arizona is also chipping in money to cover some of the amount owed to Chafin for the rest of the season.
Chafin has only made 11 appearances this season and hasn't been good, but the career numbers indicate he's been pretty solid when healthy.
In his career, Chafin has only surrendered a .616 OPS against left-handed hitters.

The Cubs have also been linked to Red Sox relievers Matt Barnes and Josh Osich.
Osich is another left-handed reliever.
